Offloading my surplus field tested gear

Offloading previously field tested surplus gear to fund new projects and adventures.

Hello Operators.
If you’re looking for a good deal on some of the things you’ve seen on the channel, this post might be interesting. Normally, leftover gear is donated to eg. schools, clubs, disabled/retired veterans… or sold to at discount channel supporters to fund new projects. This time I’m sharing to the blog readers as well.

I have currently have an HF radio, a couple of solar panels and a magnetic loop which all need new homes.

Xiegu X5105

The Xiegu X5105 is an excellent radio for someone on a budget, and looking to get into portable HF radio data modes. This rig covers, HF-50Mhz at 5 watts. It has an internal antenna tuner, an internal battery, and daylight-readable display.

This would make a great pocket portable data modes radio, by adding the Digirig mobile and cable set (included).

$600 USD or 540€ (including tracked shipping)
Includes Digirig, digirig cable set, x5105 microphone. and the radio shown in the image. You’ll need to purchase a power cable (5.5×2.5mm) fused.

PowerFilm 90-watt panel

This is a custom 90W foldable Solar Panel (F32-2700). At 32 volts, this solar panel should be combined with a Genasun GV-10L or Victron 75/15 for example. Both of these charge controllers can handle the voltage and power coming from this lightweight folding panel.

The benefit of the higher voltage/lower current is the wire size. Whenever we discuss man-portable expeditions, anything done to reduce weight is appreciated. With this panel, we can use smaller diameter, lighter weight extension cables, without losing the man-portable performance of the amorphous silicon panel.

$900 USD or 805€ (including tracked shipping) Includes only what is shown in the picture. You’ll need to pick up or make an extenxion cable.

Off Grid Trek OGT120

This is the OGT 120 watt monocrystalline panel from Off Grid Trek. Excellent folding panels for car camping. Not at all man-portable, but still a great value, if you don’t have to carry it on your back.
$650 USD or 585€ (including tracked shipping)
Includes only what is shown in the image.
You’ll need to pick up an extension cable.

$650 USD or 585€ (including tracked shipping)
Includes only what is shown in the picture.
You’ll need to pick up an extention cable.
