An alternative configuration for the Super Antenna MP1 HF antenna.
Hello Operators. Here’s a flashback to my favorite Super Antenna MP1 configuration. It uses a collapsible whip antenna in place of the telescopic or titanium whip normally used with the MP1 loading coil.
It uses three or more counterpoise wires, elevated above ground. It also uses two extension rods underneath the super antenna slider.
Benefits are less loading compared to using the telescopic whip, zero spring tension versus the super whip. Finally, it’s flat and narrow when stored. Downsides are losing some of the higher HF bands, and the frequency guide being out of sync.
